Meet The Girls of Summer

Hot days, hard practices and challenging games filled the days and evenings of June and July. While many took to other activities, our players took to the fields in what was a challenging but exciting season of summer softball.

There was no rest as we started playing summer games as spring playoff games were finishing. Our teams participated in the Kinderkamack Softball League, including for the first time, our youngest, 1st and 2nd graders. This was the first year Oradell had this many teams enter the summer league. We also began using some new technology in the form of an app that allows up to collect data, including batting statistics. Congratulations to Samantha Breyer and Kristen Lee as they lead their teams in batting. Many thanks to Coach Tack Kim who arranged a five week pitching clinic, which started in the spring and finished in the summer. A special thank you to all coaches for their time in volunteering.

River Dell Summer Camp

Aside from the league, this summer marked another first as over 50 Oradell girls participated in the River Dell Softball Camp, which was run and hosted by River Dell Head Coach, Brian Calabrese.

The Head Hawk put the girls through a full week of drills, teaching them ample skills in the process, including the use of a tarp and water to get them sliding. The softball campers wrapped up the week with a fun day of skill competitions.

Another great event of summer was our march in the 4th of July parade. Softball players showed up in force and lead the Oradell Little League with pride.

Unfortunately we missed many photo opportunities and some players are not shown. We are looking forward to a fun fall season ahead where we can capture more action. Stay tuned and be ready to catch the action!
